A Light Burden is a morsel from Jesus, made available to you in every article—a snack that you will be able to glean from His field, for the purpose of nourishing you today.
Following Jesus is neither difficult, nor is it exclusive. He came and died for whosoever would believe in Him (John 3:16). In fact, Jesus told us in Matthew 11:28-30 that following Him is easy. Here is what He said in the passage:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Light Burden was founded on December 31, 2020 to help explorers all over the world receive Jesus' easy yoke in exchange for our heavy burdens. The Light Blog is a digestible, steady diet of the Word of God, paired with a personal reflection and a prayer. Our desire is that Bible study remains practical as opposed to being merely academic. In addition to our blog, we are learning how to be ancient disciples in a modern world. To that effect, The Light Disciple Podcast was born on May 1, 2022, and it is designed to help us apply the Word of God today in our world.
What Is Our Mission?
To discover God's design for all creation.™️
What Is Our Vision?
To see disciples edified by the Word of God from all around the world who trade their heavy burdens for Jesus' light burden.
What Do We Believe?
We are a place for refreshment and restoration through the reading and studying of the inerrant, God-breathed Bible (2 Timothy 3:16).
We lovingly provide uplifting Bible-based content with grace and truth because we believe that there is a blessing for those who make the LORD their trust (Psalm 40:4).
We submit that Jesus (Yeshua) is the fulfillment of messianic prophecy (Psalm 30:4) (Micah 5:2) (Isaiah 11:1) (Isaiah 53), and He died, was buried, and was resurrected from the dead to reconcile man to God (John 3:16-17) (1 Corinthians 15:1-8).
We believe God desires to bring salvation to Israel through His Son Jesus. (Psalm 14:7) (Luke 1:16)
We seek the promises of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as elucidated in the Bible, and we desire the life that He offers through His Son Jesus (John 4:10) (John 10:10).
We believe that God is the creator of everything (John 1:1-3), that He is one (Deuteronomy 6:4)(John 10:30), and that He exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Isaiah 48:12-16) (Matthew 28:19).
Come all who are weary and heavy ladened and join us as we follow Jesus to find rest for our souls! Join an exciting adventure that has been developing for thousands upon thousands of years!
As we crawl through the Bible together, we will discover why we are here, what we are created to do, and God's design for all of His beautiful creation!
Subscribe to our blog and podcast to trek with us through the Bible. We welcome you to join our pursuit of Jesus' easy yoke and light burden as we learn from Him and uncover the truth of His Word to discover God’s design for all creation.™️
Editor-in-chief of Light Burden. Blake is a passionate disciple of Jesus, and he enjoys uncovering the revelations Christ placed in the Bible for us to find. He created Light Burden on December 31, 2020 to help share those revelations with other Light Travelers (hearts set alight through Jesus by the grace of the Father), and for others who have yet to know the glory and transformational freedom of salvation. Blake believes wholeheartedly that the Truth will set humanity free, and he desires to spend his life sharing the Truth of the Lord Jesus Christ to ignite faith, hope and love in and for our Savior. Blake believes Jesus is the best gift the world has ever been given, and he hopes to cultivate a platform that motivates us all to learn more about Him, talk to Him in prayer, worship Him and most of all, share Him with others. Blake lives with his beautiful family in the United States of America in a city called "Heart of Babylon." He enjoys traveling the world, not just to make disciples, but to be a disciple.
